Microsoft offers to buy Yahoo!
Gr. I just moved from SmugMug to Flickr (Flickr, owned by yahoo, is focussed on usability rather than JavaScript gimmickry, which just drove me crazy on SmugMug) last year. I am not keen on having my photos hosted by Microsoft.Â
I have just managed to extract all but a few of my WMV files into standard mp4 formats last year as well.  Â

Don’t forget that del.icio.us is also a Y! property. Ick. Is there anything out there that’s as good? I saw some reports that Digg etc have surpassed del.icio.us in posts/day (or somethign like that) but they don’t solve the same problem.
On the upside, Flickr may be sold off once the deal goes through, according to some pundits.

Grr. Well, whenever Microsoft does something someone will likely scream anti-trust. This is probably the best thing that could happen to Google though.
