NocturneToggle

It would be cool if there were software on the Mac that would detect whether the surroundings are dark or light and invoke Nocturne.

Securities Industry and Paper

I am surprised the securities issuers in Canada have not yet moved to  electronic delivery of shareholder information yet  -  (i.e. prospectuses).  Obviously, some rules probably need to be changed for this to happen, but imagine the resources that could be saved if delivery of prospectus and confirmation slips were electronic.

Leopards new security system would net let me enable file sharing (port 548) on my IMac without opening that port on the firewall.  I didn’t want the port opened - because I wanted to tunnel port 548 to my [...]

David Winer Sold Acid

On Nerd TV # 6 David Winer admitted (transcript) selling drugs such as acid, with apparently no consequences.  He and the host even joke about the statute of limitations being passed.
Contrast this with a Andrew Feldmar, a  non-US citizen who is banned from visiting his family in the US altogether, for writing about using LSD [...]
