Tomato firmware for Linksys wrt54g
I tried the recent Sveasoft firmware and could not successfully connect to the internet with my WRT54G. The Sveasoft download process is confusing, you have to enter a bunch of “MAC Addresses”, and either their firmware is dumb or I am, because I could not get it to work.
I tried the Tomato firmware, which supports a lot of routers. It just worked. It certainly has some advantages over the linksys firmware, and of using my airport express (the airport express won’t issue a fixed IP, which is frustrating if you want to connect remotely to one of your computers).
