Canada.com - they just don’t get the web
I thought I would give canada.com another chance. I really would find online access to the Victoria Times Colonist useful. Now they have “improved” their offering. Instead of a nice format to read in a web browser or other text reader (i.e. pda/blackberry), their digital edition has some really weird format. It replicates the page view in a browser, and it just sucks to use. Try it. It just baffles me how they get the web so wrong. At least the annoying noises are gone.Why they just can’t publish in a web format, with ads floated around text etc, and some nice downloads for PDAs, I don’t know. After all, after the trial period the digital edition is only available to paid subscribers. I know as a frequent advertiser in their paper edition I would have more people viewing my ad than with their current edition.
