IPhoto Trashes GPS Metadata
I have been playing with geotagging in IPhoto. I was able to jam some geographical metadata (geographic metadata and place names) into some images with HoudaGeo (which can turn gps coordinates into place names). Uploading to Flickr went fine - the flickr uploader plugin recognized the geographic metadata as well asIPhoto keywords.
Where things went awry is the editing of images. IPhoto trashes the GPS and IPTC properties in the edited photos. I think that is pretty crappy behavior - trashing all the metadata you don’t know about. It is not that easy to put back in either. Does anyone have a script to selectively copy metadata from one photo to another in IPhoto?
