SmugMug Updates: Video Manuals and Support For OpenID
I think OpenID is on the verge of becoming very popular. SmugMug is an OpenID Provider. I am not sure why I would want SmugMug to be my ID provider, but it gives me a low effort way to try OpenID out.
SmugMug also has some neat videos showing how users can achieve their tasks. Unfortunately, they have nothing for their mac users. My challenge to SmugMug is to show in one of these videos, how a typical mac user (who is not a programmer BTW), with close to 100 albums, possibly nested in folders in IPhoto, can upload their album from IPhoto to smugmug, captions, keywords, and all. And no editing out the stuff that might confuse the user, like this:
I find the drag and drop loader equally confusing (tried in both Firefox and in Safari). Not sure what I am doing wrong, but a video would help.
BTW have you seen file/export in IPhoto?

Hi Doug, I’m from SmugMug. Y’know, you’re right. A new video, showing how to fully utilize the Mac Uploader would be great. We’ll work on one something that The Thing would be proud of — and when it’s ready, it’ll be here. It might be a little while, because we’re’ working on a new improved version of the Mac Standalone uploader. We’ll also take your great suggestion about making a Mac-version of the Universal Drag and Drop video, too
Thanks so much!
In the meantime - if you write to our Support Heroes, we’ll sort you out on either uploader, really fast.
By the way, that’s the lamest error message, I’ll ask if we can improve on that, too.
