Safari vs. Firefox
I have been using Max OSX for about a year and never gave Safari a chance - the only time I used it was to download Firefox.
I recently decided to give Safari a try after finding Firefox unreliable on the mac, with no improvement after the latest release. I find Firefox hangs up a lot, leaving the computer nearly unusable until it is killed with Activity Monitor. Often, Firefox will refuse to be moved to the center of the screen - attempting to drag it over will result in Firefox placing itself halfway off the right of the screen, making it useless.
I have found Safari much more reliable. The only caveat was that it was difficult to use tabbed browsing - it has to be enabled in a preference menu before it starts to work — a bit of an easter egg really.
Pith Helmet provides an ad block plug in. I rarely used other plug-ins for Firefox - I do miss the search engine plug-ins for the rare instances in which Google isn’t a suitable tool (i.e. searching recent blog posts with technorati).
