MPEGStreamClip for Video Clips From Digital Cameras
I have been using MPEG Streamclip a lot lately. I recently discovered version 1.7 has a batch facility under the list menu, which makes it a whole lot easier to convert a set of existing clips.
Video clips from digital cameras are often huge because they are not compressed very well, and may have audio problems when you import them into a video editing program like Microsoft Movie Maker or IMovie.
If you keep your video clips without editing, I suggest you try this tool to convert them from whatever your camera stores them as to MPEG-4, Quicktime, or convert them to an intermediate DV format (huge) and then compress them with your video editing tool like Microsoft MovieMaker (if you want WMV files) or IMovie (if you want Quicktime, MPEG-4, or a variety of other formats. You will save a lot of space and it will be more practical to share your videos across the internet.
I find MPEG StreamClip far easier to use than ffmpeg.
