Hatom
In 2003 I proposed embedding RSS in HTML to make syndication easier and eliminate the need for both seperate HTML and RSS feeds or at least make it easy to author HTML and generate HTML. This concept is now being formalized in the HAtom spec. Very cool, this could be a dramatic step in making syndication of web feeds maintstream (i.e. syndication of 90%+ of web sites that have information that should be syndicated).
At the time I was inspired to embed RSS information in HTML by RDDL which embedded information about namespaces in HTML pages.
