Hatom

In 2003 I proposed embedding RSS in HTML to make syndication easier and eliminate the need for both seperate HTML and RSS feeds or at least make it easy to author HTML and generate HTML. This concept is now being formalized in the HAtom spec. Very cool, this could be a dramatic step [...]

VCards, ICalendar, Microformats, and RSS Rant

The user experience with VCard and ICalendar is completely broken.
In outlook, if you try and forward a contact to someone, you really have to know what you are doing. Trying to simply forward a contact results in an Microsoft Outlook contact being sent rather than a VCard. If the recipient is running [...]

Backing up del.icio.us

The del.icio.us rest api makes it easy to backup your del.icio.us links with curl, availailable in most unix environments including cygwin on Microsoft Windows.

on venture capital are interesting things to consider for the founders exit strategy if you dream about starting or funding a new venture.
Hence the fourth problem: the acquirers have begun to realize they can buy wholesale. Why should they wait for VCs to make the startups they want [...]

AirportExpress Not Junked

I was considering tossing my my airport express on my junk heap alongside my HauppaugeMvp. Disconnecting it from my WDS network and creating a seperate network dedicated to ITunes seems to have fixed the problem. I haven’t had to reboot the AirportExpress yet.
I may try the MVP again once I upgrade the [...]
